ENCR fellowships are designed to allow cancer registry staff to work in collaboration with colleagues in other registries,
in order to exchange and enhance skills in cancer registration or to participate in research projects. They can also be used to
attend ENCR courses. The fellowships are open to individuals currently working in the field of cancer registration in Europe.
This includes staff specialised in data collection, quality control, data administration and computing, and data analysis. While
the majority of the fellowships are used to attend courses, ENCR strongly supports applications for visits to other European cancer
registries.
Currently, a maximum award of 1000 EURO is normally offered. This contributes to the travelling and living expenses involved in
visiting a host institution. Home institutions are encouraged to cover any additional costs.
Selection is made by a special committee, consisting of a Chairman and two other persons, and currently composed as follows:
Dr Freddie Bray, The Cancer Registry of Norway, Oslo, Norway
Dr T. Hakulinen, Finnish Cancer Registry, Helsinki, Finland
Dr L. Simonato, University of padova, Padova, Italy
