	41st STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING The 41st steering committee meeting was held at IARC on 6-7 April 2009. The minutes of the steering committee are available here

	EUROCIM The European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR) in the past developed a joint software and database called EUROCIM (European Cancer Incidence and Mortality database). This database allowed contributing member registries to analyze international cancer registry data at a level of detail previously impossible based on public use data. The software is now outdated, and by decision of the ENCR Steering Committee it will not be developed further. The database, however, will be renewed and become available to the participating registries and it will include additional data items to enable a wider range of studies. The EUROCIM-2 dataset will be provided to contributing registries under the rules listed in section 1 and at the level of detail described in section 2. As with the original EUROCIM database publications will require the explicit consent of the registries whose data is used and a protocol for the study published on the ENCR web site. 	ENCR STEERING COMMITTEE ELECTIONS 2008 - RESULTS The ENCR elections to fill the positions of five outgoing members of the Steering Committee are finalised. A total of 82 member-registries voted out of the 183 ENCR registries (participation rate 45%). 	ADVANCED COURSE: AUTOMATED CANCER REGISTRATION The next course on Automated Cancer Registration will take place in Birmingham from 26 to 27 June 2006. The course is intended for registries which have recently become automated, or which have firm plans in place to become automated. The programme and the form are available here

	ENCR STEERING COMMITTEE ELECTIONS The elections for the ENCR Steering Committee were closed on 30 April 2005. The composition of the new Committee is given here

	ENCR GENERAL MEETING AND WORKSHOPS The ENCR General Meeting and Workshops was held on 26-27 October 2004 at the European Commission in Luxembourg. It consisted of a short general meeting and four workshops on the following topics: evaluation of clinical care, childhood cancer, automated cancer registration and molecular pathology. 	ENCR WORKING GROUP An ENCR Working Group was established in 2003 to prepare a recommended standard dataset for cancer registries. More information here.

	CODING MULTIPLE PRIMARIES, revised rules (ICD-O-3) A Working Group consisting of representatives of IARC, IACR and ENCR has revised the previous IARC/IACR recommendations for coding multiple primaries. Available here.

	STATA (Version 8.0) MACROS FOR SHORT-TERM PREDICTIONS (UPGRADE) Due to a major bug in the file PRED_STATA8.zip posted on the website in December 2003, please replace with the corrected version now downloadable. The suite of Stata (Version 8.0) macros for short-term predictions by Tadek Dyba and Timo Hakulinen of the Finnish Cancer registry are available online and can be downloaded at http://www.encr.com.fr/stata-macros.htm as a zipped file. Once unzipped, please read the Word (or pdf) document pred_stata to receive some basic instructions as to how to use the programs.

	ENCR Cancer Fact Sheets In the series of "ENCR Cancer Fact Sheets", four issues have been published so far: "Lung cancer in Europe", "Breast cancer in Europe", "Bladder cancer in Europe" "Cutaneous Malignant Melanoma in Europe".

	ENCR Publications Standards and Guidelines for Cancer Registration in Europe This is a handbook for cancer registries bringing together all recommendations and guidelines that have been prepared so far by the ENCR Working Groups, as well as recommendations prepared by the International Association of Cancer Registries (IACR) and adapted by the Network. 	ENCR Publications Evaluation of Clinical Care by Cancer Registries This report introduces the framework, subject matter, methods, study designs and problems in the assessment of quality of clinical care. More information available here

	The ENCR Automated Cancer Registration website is now open. Within this site you will find information on the principles of automated registration and the benefits that are being realised, definitions, an interactive test site, related publications, etc.

	EUCAN Database - Version 5.0 EUCAN - Cancer Incidence, Mortality and Prevalence in the European Union. (1998 estimates) Only for EUCAN CD-ROM Owners!

	EUROCIM version 4.0 A new version of the EUROCIM software, with a time trends module and an updated data set was developed and distributed in July 2001. Data on about 15 million cancer cases have been provided by over 100 cancer registries in Europe. EUROCIM is distributed to registries contributing data.
